This time, we’ve summarized updates from upstream suppliers along with key trends in men’s wear for SS25. Let’s take a look!
Fibers
(Apr 15th) Global thread supplier COATs announced its exit from US yarn market and the closure of its facilities in Kings Mountain, USA, and Mexico. The company explained that the decision comes as the business segment has shown structural weakness and is misaligned with the company's strategic direction.
The exit is expected to be completed in Q2, with the closures anticipated to generate modest cash inflow and accelerate the focus on core business operations.

Fibers
(Apr 14th) Japanese material group Teijin has partnered with Dutch material company Circularise to launch Digital Product Passports (DPP) for aramid and carbon fibers, aiming to enhance supply chain transparency and circularity of materials.
The technology complies with the EU’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), enabling traceability of material origins and recycling processes. Teijin plans to gradually roll out DPP-enabled products starting in November 2024, strengthening its leadership in sustainable innovation and preparing to meet upcoming EU DPP requirements for batteries, textiles, and other sectors.

Fabric
(Apr 17th) The LYCRA Company is showcasing its latest bio-delivered LYCRA EcoMade fiber at Kingpins Amsterdam, which emphasizes its technology breakthrough and sustainability in the field of denim material. The fiber is made from Iowa-dent corn and will decrease the carbon footprint by 44%.
