Since the U.S. reciprocal tariffs took effect to 90 nations last week, it seems more complicated for purchasers to adjust their sourcing strategies. These tariff policies might even impact more activewear brands' future strategies, too.
This week, Arabella still collected more breaking news that might reshape entire landscape of clothing industry. Let's take a look together.
Markets
(Aug 3rd)
According to the ECB (European Central Bank)'s latest blog, China's exporters may redirect their goods to the Eurozone due to the hit of the U.S. tariff policies. This shift might lower the Eurozone HICP inflation in Eurozone by 0.15% in 2026, with effects potentially lingering to 2027.
China authorities said that they will take measures targeting to these exporters to help redirect their sales to domestic or third markets.

(Aug 5th)
According to a joint survey by the University of Delaware and the USFIA (United States Fashion Industry Association) , US fashion companies are rethinking their global sourcing strategies due to the impact of US tariffs policies. The data shows that the sales declining is happening on nearly half of these companies, while over 20% of which have implemented layoffs. Additionally, there are over 80% companies starting diversifying sourcing plans in Asia whereas only 17% companies are considering domestic procurement.
Brands
(Aug 4th)
According to the independent media KIKS, Anta has reportedly reached an acquisition agreement with US brand management company ABG for Reebok, though Anta Group stated that it is recommended to refer to the official information released by the company.
Given Reebok's nostalgic appeals and strong connection with Gen-Z consumers, it is possible for Anta to expand their business landscape with Reebok's participation.
(Aug 6th)
US female shapewear brand Spanx collaborated with wellness brand Bala to drop their first-ever activewear capsule collection "Spanx x Bala". The collection is focusing on fusing "fashion and function"by incorporating Bala's top-sale product Bala sports bands, bangles and non-slip socks. And it will be dropped officially as Spanx's autumn releases, including leggings, sports bras, dresses and skorts.
