(May 6th) Skechers has agreed to be acquired by 3G Capital and will remain under the leadership of CEO Robert Greenberg, President Michael Greenberg, and COO David Weinberg, continuing its current strategy.

Despite a 16% YoY decline in Q1 sales in China, the company still sees strong growth potential in the China market. Weinberg affirmed continued investment in products, marketing, and infrastructure to support expansion in China.

(May 6th) Unifi, the makers of REPREVE® and one of the global innovation material company in recycled and synthetic yarns, just launched Fortisyn™ durable yarn, which is designed for military and tactical gear with excellent tear and tensile strength to enhance fabric durability.

At the same time, Hugo Boss collaborated with Garan Bio-based Chemicals and NBC to launch NovaPoly, a bio-degradable recycled polyester yarn made from textile waste designed to decrease micro-plastic pollution.

This innovative material will apply to their latest high-performance clothing line, Boss Green. Currently, it is only available to their own brands and planning to license it to other fashion brands in the future.

(May 8th)According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), U.S. retail sales rose in April since consumers shopped early out of tariff concerns. Electronics and grocery sales were strong, while apparel was up 5.14% YoY.

NRF explained that despite uncertainty tariff policies, low unemployment and stable incomes still continue to support consumer spending steadily.
