Arabella just wrapped up a busy week with two client visits, but there was another reason to make this week special: the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Mid-autumn Festival is known as one of Chinese traditional holidays for family and friends to gather together to celebrate warmness, love and unification under the full moon. People have mooncakes and watch the moon, enjoying their sweetest moment at home. However, as one of activewear manufacturers located in China, Arabella Clothing chose to follow another unique ritual only existing in our place, Fujian. This ritual requires an important but bizarre thing that only shows up in Casino or Poker: Dice. So, what kind of ritual will need this in this festival?
Today, Arabella Clothing would like to share with you something outside of the factory but inside of our people's life: about how we celebrate our festival after hours.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet "Bo Bing".
What Is Bo Bing?
Bo Bing, also known as Mooncake Dice Game, is a traditional Mid-Autumn game especially popular in Fujian, particularly in southern Fujian and Xiamen. Players take turns rolling six dice in a bowl, with different dice combinations corresponding to different prize levels.
The highest prize is called Zhuangyuan, or "Champion", followed by other ranks such as Yixiu, Erju, Sanhong, Sijin, Wujin, and Liujin.
But Bo Bing is about more than winning prizes. It is a social tradition that brings families, friends, and colleagues together around one table. The sound of dice rolling, the cheers after a lucky combination, and the laughter around the table are all part of the Mid-Autumn atmosphere in Fujian.
For us at Arabella, the Mid-Autumn Festival is not only about mooncakes and the full moon. It is also about gathering together, sharing laughter, testing your luck, and creating those little moments that bring people closer.
