After FIBO 2026, what truly impressed Arabella team is that there were more incredible females who have shown up on the stage. They appeared at the competitions, summits or booths, and most of them were moms. We felt proud to meet these moms during the tour at FIBO.

Concept to Performance: Deconstructing the Technical Requirements of Premium Yoga Wear
There are diverse options when choosing your first outfit to start your yoga clothing lines. Generally, they can be divided into tops and bottoms. Common tops in yoga wear are: sports bras, tanks, t-shirts and blouses. And common bottoms are leggings and shorts. However, unlike our daily essentials or other activewear, yoga wear has its own underlying designing logic.
For tops, they require corresponding support, ventilation, non-restriction and skin-friendliness.
For the bottoms, they need to be body-skimming, not tight in the crotch, no pilling hems, high stretch and low- to mid-support, since trainees need to move their legs slowly but frequently during yoga.
When it comes to yoga apparel for expectant moms, the design requirements are far more complicated. For example, wrap, layers, v-neck or zip-up designs on the yoga tops will be suitable for moms who need breast-feeding, while adjustable and size-inclusive waistbands, as well as non-BPA fabrics will be better for expectant moms when designing their bottoms.
All of these demands can be deconstructed by clothes metrics, fabric weights, content of elastane and craftsmanship. Here are some common metrics of yoga tops and bottoms for your reference based on our mocking-up experience on yoga wear.
Common Design Metrics of Yoga Wear in Arabella Clothing
If you are a beginner in yoga wear and have no idea about these references, Arabella Clothing has some ready-design styles for you to choose.
If you are an activewear designer struggling in choosing corresponding fabrics and crafts, we also prepared some fabrics that are suitable for yoga wear to select, which are targeting to solve trendy pain points such as antimicrobial, sustainable and size-free.
What Are the Core Pain Points in the Yoga Wear Market in 2026?
Yoga is an activity requiring the combination of breath and body, the balance of stretch and force, as well as the state of static and dynamic, which leads its outfits to 4 essential factors: high-stretch fabrics (Fabric Elongation Rate ≥300%), no restriction, strong shape-retention(Fabric Rebound Rate ≥95%), and moisture wicking and evaporation management. However, it is hard to harmonize every aspect above perfectly when it comes to mock-up and sampling yoga clothes.
According to Arabella Clothing's experience in yoga wear manufacturing, there are 4 common pain points in this market that still need to be solved as below:
- Insufficient and non-durable stretch
- Poor evaporation and ventilation
- Crotch binding and hems pilling
- Rough surface and non-skin-friendliness on fabrics
So, how to fix these pain points when designing yoga apparel? From Arabella Clothing's perspective, here are some suggestions:
- Fabrics: Use soft materials that suitable for yoga clothes such as Tencel™ or Modal
- Silhouette Designs: Balance high waist and low crotch to avoid the crotch binding as well as skin chafing between thighs
- Stitches: Minimize seams and stitches to prevent abrasion on skins by using seamless or bonding technology
- Try your samples on frequently: Feel the fabrics quality on your skins, especially smoothness, and ventilation, as well as their feels on your thighs and waists.
Even yoga wear has become a saturated niche in activewear market, it is never too late to go back to the basic. The deeper we know about our consumers' demand, the more professional we get in this niche. Arabella Clothing is looking forward to communicating more about activewear with you, no matter you are a beginner or a sophisticated one and keen on learning activewear design, we are always here to back you up.
